Lock Operating instructions for ES Series Safes
(ES1013, ES1310 & WES1310)



Upon installing the batteries, the electronics will perform a self-check. ON -» OPEN -» Error -» Lo-BAT -» TE -» good To OPEN: Press * then 7777 (Factory code) then #. After the signal and OPEN appears on the display, turn the knob to the right (within 4 seconds) to open the door. To Change The Personal Code: Two separate codes (1st) & (2nd) may be used with (2 to 6 digits in length). (1st code) On the back of the door, press the change button 5J, on the key pad press « .enter new personal code, press #. Signal indicates accepted. Be sure and try the code before closing the door. (2"" code, only if desired) Press the change button ffl, on the key pad press #, enter new personal code, press #. Signal indicates accepted. Be sure and try the code before dosing the door. Caution! If a wrong number is entered, ERROR displays. If 3 wrong attempts, lock will power down for 5 minutes. Emergency Bypass Key: There is a key lock behind the battery compartment. Slide the battery cover to the right and remove. Remove the batteries. Un-snap the battery base from the dips and carefully let hang out of the way. Insert one of the keys provided with the safe and turn to the left a full rotation and hold, then turn the knob to the right and open the door. Caution: Be sure and return the key back counterclockwise before removing, or the lock will remain open. Note: If the keys are lost, the key number is stamped on the face of the cylinder. Low Battery: When Lo-Bat appears in the window when entering your code, it is time to replace the batteries. Replacing batteries will not affect existing personal codes. Slide the battery cover to the right and remove. Replace the batteries with a good brand of alkaline battery. Be sure and place the (+) end of the battery in each position of the base as indicated by the symbol.

To change the digital combination lock code: 1. Locate the button on the inside of the door near the hinges. 2. Press the button, then release it and you will hear a beep. 3. Now press between 3 and 8 numbers that you wish to use as a combination, and confirm by pressing the letter “B”. Be sure to write them down immediately, so you don’t forget how to open the safe. 4. To open the safe, push the numbers you have selected followed by the letter “A”, and pull the chrome handle. 5. If you or an intruder use the incorrect group of numbers, it will not open and you will see multiple yellow flashes and hear beeps. If the wrong group of numbers has been used once, you must wait 20 seconds to try again. If the wrong group of numbers is used again, you must wait over 5 minutes to try again. More incorrect codes will freeze the system for one (1) hour !!!!!!! and the keypad will not respond when pressed. (See Override Key Instructions) After entering your secret combination, you have 5 seconds to pull the chrome handle before the mechanism relocks. If it relocks, enter your combination again. To change batteries: Open the safe door with your combination and pull the chrome handle. Remove the sliding battery cover plate on the back of the door. Once inside, batteries are revealed. Replace the weak batteries and reverse the procedure. CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the wiring in the safe while removing the batteries. Battery Replacement Warning: If the batteries are low, a RED light will warn you immediately! To test the batteries, just press “B”. The RED light will start to flash immediately if the batteries are low. If nothing happens, it means that the batteries are OK. When the electronic system signals that the batteries should be changed, you have approximately (1) one to (2) two months of service before the batteries are dead. Key Override Instructions to open the safe: For your convenience, there is a manual key override system provided on your safe. If you forget or misplace your combination, remove the round plastic cover located below or across from the keypad. Behind the plate you will find a key lock. Insert the chrome key and turn it to the left (counter-clockwise) and hold while pulling the chrome handle. This will manually open your safe at any time. This may also be used to open the safe if the batteries have gone totally dead. Note: Be sure the chrome handle is in the fully closed position. If the handle is pulled up before the combination is completely entered, the mechanism will not release and the door can not be opened.

 - Turn the dial to the RIGHT more than 4 times:Pass through the first combo number 3 times, then set the combo  number at notch


                                                   - Turn the dial to the LEFT 3 times:Pass through the second combo number twice, then set the 2nd combo number at the notch.

- Turn the dial to the RIGHT 2 times:Pass through the third combo number once, then set the third combo number at the notch.


-Turn the dial to the LEFT and set the last combo number at the notch. You should now be able to turn the handle and open the safe.Please keep your combination in a safe place, away from your safe.
 





Standard Dial Combo Lock Directions
-Turn the dial to the LEFT more than 4 times:Pass through the first combo number 3 times, then set the combo number at notch

-Turn the dial to the RIGHT 3 times:Pass through the second combo number twice, then set the 2nd combo number at the notch. 

-Turn the dial to the LEFT 2 times:Pass through the third combo number once, then set the third combo number at the notch.

-Turn the dial to the RIGHT and set the last combo number at the notch. You should now be able to turn the handle and open the safe.
